Helen O’Connor is a Group Scientist at Procter & Gamble who spends her days searching for the consumer truths that will turn everyday chores like doing laundry, the dishes or sweeping the floor into something people can enjoy or maybe even look forward to doing. As a Product Researcher she works as a master integrator, making non-obvious connections across consumer, technical, and business realms, translating these connections into robust product propositions across the entire product experience from finding, to buying, to use and disposal. With 20+ years of designing delightful product experiences, Helen has worked across multiple consumer product categories covering all stages of life from newborns to aging grandparents and with brands including Tide, Downy, Pampers and Olay. She uses behavioral and observational techniques to investigate various aspects of peoples’ home and life to understand the new Jobs to be Done for emerging consumer groups including Urban Millennials and People of Age. When not working, Helen spends her spare time with a local non-profit youth circus helping them juggle the business end of bringing the joy and benefits of Circus Arts to more kids.
