Tutorial #04: Social Media, Product Hacks and Consumer Misuse: A Toolkit for the Good, the Bad, and the Unexpected (repeating)
Product hacks, shortcuts, and consumer misuse of your brand's products are all being broadcast on social media every day.  How should a responsible brand behave? Social media strategy is no longer optional for brands; it is a critical part of any brand strategy. In this engaging and interactive session, three major consumer brands and CPSC's social media leader will review the good, the bad, and the ugly of social media and consumer misuse gone awry. As every factual situation is different, your brand may need a different tool from its toolkit each time, depending on the circumstances. Panelists will generously share approaches from their tool-kits that have worked for them as well as those approaches that… didn’t. The panel hopes that audience members will come prepared with their own examples of both successful and unsuccessful approaches.

TO PREPARE:  Before the panel and throughout ICPHSO, please visit www.productmisuse.com for examples of product misuse broadcast on social media and please add your own examples via Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.  Be sure to use the hashtag #productmisuse and #icpsho in your post and it will display on that website. Examples need not be your own. The panel welcomes your engagement.
